Last week we were very happy to receive a visit from our friend Peroy. He came all the way from Sweden, just to meet us and to play with us!
We have already started to write our play and construct our little theater performance. We have 5 weeks left to our premier day, we hope that My Story Romania will be ready until then!

Our theater workshops are working very good. The children started to open up and be free in their bodies and minds.
We enjoy seeing all the changes that appear in their behavior and we're having a lot of fun together. The kids still receive sandwiches, fruits and juice everyday and from time to time we have a special guest that comes to speak to the children. Yesterday we welcomed Lavinia Neacsu, our favorite dentist! She explained how we should brush our teeth and gave us tooth brushes and tooth paste so we can practice at home. We believe it's never too late to have a happy childhood! Today we started with seeing some educational movies about Sweden and we continued having fun with our theater games. We had warm sandwiches, oranges and juice. A perfect day!
After being nervous about meeting the kids, both me and Petre relaxed when we saw what great children we have in our group! We offered them warm sandwiches, juice and Swedish Kex chocolate. All these gave us a lot of energy and we played theater games as much as we could! We used this first meeting to get to know each other better, it's a lot of new names and new faces for all of us. But it was a lot of fun and we can't wait to meet again on Friday! Thank you so much to all of you that donated money for our little project, it was such a joy to be able to offer these kids food right after they finished school! A special thank you to Eva Persson that sent our kids presents and a very warm letter! We are still waiting your donations, we have a lot of ideas of extra activities that we can do with the children if the funds exist!
Thank you! Meet Adi, Alin, Cristian, Denis, Marian and Andreea - part of "My Story Romania" group!

We love meeting them and can't wait to get to know them better! Don't forget that you can help our project by giving a donation! You find the information you need down the page. Meet Petre Diamantu, the second leader of the project MY STORY ROMANIA. I received with great joy and curiosity this proposal of working with children. I've been involved in social theater projects before, but I have to recognize that what we are doing now is a challenge because all the work focuses 100% on these wonderful children and their world. I am very anxious to start knowing the children so that we can start playing together. What feels really nice to me is that we will have two months together and the result of our games will be a special little performance that will belong only to the kids. Can’t wait to start! Petre Dear friends,
It’s time for my next project! This time I am starting a project back home in Romania that is created especially for the children that are part of World Vision Romania Foundation’s projects. My name is Luiza Stanescu and I am a Romanian actress that lives in Sweden after finishing my master degree at the Theater University from Malmö. One of my main interests is to combine theater with social work, focusing especially on working with children. World Vision is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organization dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice. Inspired by Christian values, World Vision is dedicated to working with the world’s most vulnerable people. World Vision works with all people regardless of religion, race, ethnicity or gender. You can find more details about them here: http://www.worldvision.org/ or on their Romanian website: www.worldvision.ro. "My Story Romania" is a project I initiated for the children from a small village from south Romania. For two months the kids will be part of a theater workshop that will end up with a theater performance about their lives. I am aiming of raising the awareness about their lives and try to get more Romanians to support World Vision in their actions. In a Romania full of corruption and poverty, it’s very hard to make people trust that the organizations will do their job, no matter what. I want to explain to the people of Romania the need of help that these kids have and I will use a performance about their lives in order to do that. I will also try to explain to the audience how World Vision is helping these children. None the less, I am aiming of offering these kids 2 months of having fun while trying to develop their natural talents with the help of theater and improvisation games. This time I will be working with a total amount of 26 children. They are all in-between 10 and 14 years old and they all live in the same small village. Most of them come from a poor background and some of them are being raised by their grandparents since their parents are out of the country to work. They all go to the same little school and they all dream of going to high school. Most of them can’t afford the expenses that implies, but World Vision has a program for this problem where private persons can choose to sponsor one kid while going to high school. I think that my project will also help these kids to get their stories known and maybe have a better chance to continue school. They will have drama as a tool to speak about their lives and their dreams. Right now I am trying to raise some funds in order to offer these kids food every time we meet to work. Most of them don’t have a varied diet and they definitely don’t get sweets that often. I plan to offer them different food-surprises every time and I will make my decisions after knowing them and their needs better. This is a private initiative and I do not represent any organization. This is just my way of trying to bring some extra joy to the children that will be involved in my project.
